Kortland Ware, a 2010 graduate of Lincoln University, returned to his alma mater to serve as the Director of Golf. beginning in November of 2022. He is in second season leading both the LU men's and women's golf programs.
In his first year with the program, Ware helped secured the funding to overhaul Lincoln's on-campus practice area. Thanks to a generous donation from the KWAME Foundation, Lincoln opened the KWAME Golf Center, which includes a state-of-the-art simulator, practice greens and lockers for LU's golfers. On the course, Ware led the Lincoln men to a third-place finish at the PGA WORKS Championship.
Ware has played professionally since 2010, most recently as a member of the Midwest Golf Tour, where he recorded a best finish of second place. Ware also played on the Advocates Pro Golf Association Tour from 2019-2021 and on the Hooters Tour from 2010-2014. In his career, he has won five mini professional tour events with a personal low score of 10-under.
Before joining the Blue Tigers, Ware began his collegiate playing career at Jackson State University, where he won the individual title at the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship in 2006 with a three-round total of 213. Ware, who shot scores of 72, 70 and 71 en route to the victory, ended up winning the individual championship by 10 strokes.
Ware then transferred to Lincoln to finish his playing career, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in December of 2010. In addition to playing professionally, since 2016, Ware has also taught the fundamentals of golf in St. Louis to players with ability levels ranging from beginner to professional.
